BIO

HASEENA is an Atlanta-based artist long recognized as a powerful front woman and sharp lyricist, now turning that same voice toward telling the truth of life with chronic disability and pain. “Rejection Magnet,” her March 2026 single, is the first time she fully centers that narrative—showing the ugliest, most exhausting parts of her reality alongside the glamour most people see from the outside.

Once known primarily for high-energy performances with bands like Fig Season, Little Boxes, Cinema Novo, and Surrogates, HASEENA now leans into guitar and composition as her body has changed after more than seven years of back injuries and chronic pain. She previously tracked solo material lying down on ice packs during flare-ups with Greg Hendler of GMH Audio; this new era is co-created with drummer Jordan Manley (Mattiel, Lightning Orchestra, Black Linen) and post-produced by Joey Casanova of Netflix’s “Cheer.”

In “Rejection Magnet,” the visuals mirror that split life: a BIPOC, queer woman who looks fully “put together” onstage while feeling invisible in medical spaces and in the narratives around her. The video holds both sides at once—the polished image and the private collapse—so that disability and invisible pain are no longer hidden subtext, but the core story she is choosing to tell.
